Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for an Entry-Level Pastry Chef located in the Greater Pittsburgh Region. As an integral part of our culinary team, the Pastry Chef will play a crucial role in assisting with the preparation of high-quality pastries and baked goods, ensuring meticulous adherence to established recipes and presentation standards.

Daily responsibilities will include:

  • Accurately measuring and preparing ingredients for various pastry items.
  • Mixing dough and batters according to recipes and specific instructions.
  • Baking a diverse range of pastries and baked goods to perfection.
  • Decorating pastries with precision and an artistic eye.
  • Maintaining impeccable cleanliness and organization within all work areas.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Actively contributing to the development of new and innovative pastry ideas.
  • Assisting with inventory management for all baking supplies to ensure optimal stock levels.

Qualifications

  • Foundational skills in Baking and Pastry preparation, demonstrating a genuine passion for creating high-quality baked goods.
  • Competence in Food Preparation and Cooking with a keen attention to detail and precision in execution.
  • Understanding of general Culinary Skills, including proper ingredient handling, storage, and foundational recipe knowledge.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to the team atmosphere.
  • Relevant certifications or training in baking or culinary arts are a significant plus.
  • Prior experience in a bakery or professional kitchen is preferred but not strictly required; openness to continuous learning and professional development on the job is key.
