Position Overview: Entry Level Mechanical Designer
As an Entry Level Mechanical Designer at Henderson Engineers, you will have the exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise across our diverse market sectors: Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. You will be an integral part of a team that blends cutting-edge engineering design with practical, real-world application, working in collaboration with Henderson Building Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calculations and design basic engineering systems under the guidance of experienced design staff.
- Prepare system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
- Review shop drawings to ensure conformance with plans and specifications.
- Prepare or modify reports, plans, and designs for various projects.
- Support business development and pursuit activities.
- Participate in client, company, and/or industry events to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Occasionally visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
- Continuously seek to expand industry and/or discipline knowledge.
- Maintain proficiency in common industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of engineering (e.g., mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural) and one year of experience, OR 3 years of experience without a degree.
- Engineering Design: Basic proficiency in engineering design, including fundamental knowledge of the A&E industry, relevant codes, design guides, and standards.
- Software: Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu software preferred.
- HVAC: Understanding of the fundamental principles of HVAC design.
- Certifications: Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary Ranges
- New York Salary Range: $75,925 – $113,887
- Los Angeles Salary Range: $72,191 – $108,286
- Denver Salary Range: $68,457 – $102,685
- Philadelphia Salary Range: $68,457 – $102,685
- Las Vegas Salary Range: $65,345 – $98,018
