What To Expect (Job Responsibilities):

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security controls, ensuring compliance with FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST SP 800-53 Moderate baselines.
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, including diligent documentation updates and meticulous collection of control implementation evidence.
  • Conduct routine vulnerability scans and perform configuration compliance checks, operating under the guidance of senior personnel.
  • Monitor system and security logs to diligently identify anomalies and effectively escalate findings to senior analysts for prompt action.
  • Help maintain audit-ready documentation, encompassing compliance reports and comprehensive assessment evidence.

What Is Required (Qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field. An Associate’s degree plus 2 additional years of hands-on experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent) is required.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience in information security, cyber risk management, network defense, or IT system administration with a security focus.

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Possession of Network+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or CAP (Certified Authorization Professional) certifications.
