The Tone:
This is an entry-level, hybrid role at Machinify, located in LaGrange, KY, requiring a minimum of three days in the office. Machinify is a leading healthcare intelligence company that deploys an AI-powered platform to deliver value, transparency, and efficiency to health plan clients, helping them maximize financial outcomes and drive down healthcare costs. This position is a foundational step within the Accounting team, offering structured mentorship and a clear ramp-up to build a long-term career in accounting. The role focuses on supporting core accounting functions, including payroll and month-end close, while also contributing to the automation of accounting workflows using AI.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support the financial close: Prepare accurate journal entries, manage accrual adjustments, and complete account reconciliations under senior team guidance.
• Assist in payroll processing: Gather necessary information and input data needed for semi-monthly or bi-weekly payroll runs.
• Analyze payroll expense: Track, categorize, and report on payroll-related costs, identifying trends, variances, and improvement opportunities for forecasting.
• Work with AI and technology: Help build and enhance accounting workflows and system integrations utilizing AI tools and automation to increase accuracy and speed reporting.
• Assist with reporting and analysis: Pull data, construct simple reports, and respond to ad hoc business inquiries to understand the connection between numbers and operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field; this is an entry-level position.
• Experience: No specific years required; relevant internships, part-time work, coursework, or projects are a plus.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, solid problem-solving and analytical instincts, good written and verbal communication, and the ability to stay organized and manage time effectively.
