Entertainment Unlimited Student Assistant (Student Position) | Ferris State University College of Business

The Tone:
This is a student position at Ferris State University, located in Big Rapids, MI. You will be supporting Entertainment Unlimited (EU), a program within the Center for Student Involvement. EU focuses on creating and executing diverse campus events that cater to student interests. This role is vital for fostering student engagement and enhancing the university experience through well-planned and creatively marketed programming.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (approximately 12 hours/week, flexible schedule including evenings and occasional weekends)
• Location: In-person, Big Rapids, MI
• Pay: $13.73 hourly
• Team: Reports to the Student Engagement Administrator/Entertainment Unlimited Advisor, working within Entertainment Unlimited and the Center for Student Involvement
• Mission: This person assists in the end-to-end process of creating engaging campus events, from ideation to evaluation, ensuring high-quality student programming.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office programs, Canva

What You’ll Actually Do
• Event Management: Assist with all stages of campus events, including brainstorming, planning, facilitation, and evaluation, ensuring alignment with EU’s mission.
• Leadership & Advocacy: Attend and lead weekly EU General Assembly and executive board meetings while actively promoting CSI and EU programs and opportunities.
• Marketing & Outreach: Generate appropriate advertising, participate in promotional public appearances, and contribute to the recruitment and retention of EU members.
• Operational Oversight: Operate within the provided programing budget, monitor event progress, troubleshoot issues, and maintain assigned office space organization.
• Logistics & Support: Operate university vehicles for purchasing event supplies or transporting artists, and ensure all assigned responsibilities are completed by deadlines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level student in Good Academic Standing, who has been an active member of Entertainment Unlimited for at least one semester.
• Experience: Familiarity with campus programming trends, student interests, and creative marketing strategies. Prior experience with Microsoft Office programs and Canva.
• Skills: Sound judgment and decision-making, proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, proficiency in Canva, ability to speak in front of live audiences, and safe operation of university motor vehicles.
