Enterprise Credit Summer Analyst (Intern) | Bank of America
The Tone:
This is an early career summer internship at Bank of America, a global financial institution. Located across various major cities including Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Seattle, this program provides broad exposure to the essential functions of Enterprise Credit. The role is crucial for developing the next generation of credit professionals, offering hands-on experience, formal training, and mentorship to build technical, analytical, and professional skills. It is designed to immerse participants in credit underwriting, monitoring, business controls, and credit data management routines.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assess creditworthiness: Analyze client, company, and/or transaction financial information to identify risk drivers.
• Evaluate repayment ability: Perform cash-flow, trend, and scenario analysis to assess the capacity to incur and repay obligations.
• Support loan processes: Assist with loan structuring discussions, documentation, and approval materials.
• Ensure compliance: Review and evaluate collateral, ensuring requirements are met in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Optimize credit functions: Contribute to monitoring, reporting, data management, and/or process and control optimization activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or a Bachelor’s direct-to-Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, currently in their penultimate year of school. Master’s candidates should have no more than zero years of prior experience. A primary major or course of study in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration/Management, or a closely related field is required.
• Experience: This role is designed for students with limited professional experience, specifically those in their penultimate year of undergraduate study or Master’s candidates with 0 years of experience. The program focuses on providing foundational experience in credit analysis and financial services.
• Skills: Essential skills include strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is also required. Candidates must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.
• Bonus: A minimum GPA of 3.5 is preferred. Ideal candidates will exhibit intellectual curiosity, an operational excellence mindset, and a strong work ethic. Prior experience in teamwork and leadership roles is also valued.
