This is an Engineering Student role at Leonardo DRS, located in Cypress, CA. The company’s DRS Space Systems division specializes in developing advanced space mission payloads. These payloads incorporate cutting-edge electro-optical and infrared space sensors, instruments, and software, serving key domestic and international allied customers. This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for an actively enrolled engineering student to gain practical experience and contribute to high-impact projects.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $21.44–$29.48 hourly
• Team: DRS Space Systems, part of Leonardo DRS’s Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business
• Mission: This person supports engineers by performing limited scope testing, gathering data, and assisting with design details to advance space mission payloads.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Testing: Conduct limited scope testing under the direct supervision of engineers.
• Task Management: Complete assigned tasks efficiently and on time.
• Data Collection: Gather and assemble data for engineers to use in their projects.
• Analysis Support: Perform design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers.
• Design Assistance: Assist engineers by providing appropriate design details.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or GED required; Must currently be an actively enrolled engineering student.
• Experience: Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOD security clearance within a reasonable time after commencing employment is mandatory.
• Skills: U.S. Citizenship is required.
