GE Vernova Nuclear Engineering Co-Op/Intern – Spring 2027 | GE Vernova

The Tone:
This is a Co-op/Internship role at GE Vernova, located in Wilmington, NC. GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) designs technology to power the future with reliable, affordable, carbon-free energy, specializing in advanced reactor technology, fuel, and services. This role is crucial for helping to electrify and decarbonize the world by addressing climate change and providing carbon-free power.

The TL;DR
• Role: Co-op/Internship
• Location: In-person, Wilmington, NC
• Pay: $1,000–$2,000 weekly
• Mission: Tackle one of the world’s toughest challenges of providing carbon-free power to the world by designing, developing, improving, and analyzing nuclear engineering concepts.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn: Receive technical learning opportunities, mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers.
• Grow: Expand your technical expertise in your chosen field and develop skills in new areas.
• Apply: Experience technically challenging assignments in the power generation industry, focusing on areas such as Systems, Analysis, Design, Reliability, Digital, and Integration & Test.
• Contribute: Perform design and analysis of product lines, develop models, solve problems, conduct research, and collaborate with the team and other organizations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Controls Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science Engineering. Candidates must be degree-seeking with graduation years of May or December 2028, or May or December 2029.
• Experience: Must be 18 years of age or older and possess reliable transportation. Must have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship and be able to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communications skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding), demonstrate initiative, and show a desire to advance nuclear power generation.
