Student Intern – Project Analyst | Pike Corporation

The Tone:
This is a student internship at Pike Corporation. Pike is a leading provider of construction, repair, and engineering services for electric and gas utilities, as well as telecommunications companies, with a growing portfolio of turnkey renewable projects. The company works with hundreds of utility clients across the country, expanding its offerings with ideas, technology, experience, manpower, and equipment. This role is essential because each employee plays a critical part in ensuring that infrastructure systems are operational when people and businesses need them, directly supporting Engineering initiatives and projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Planning: Create project schedules, milestones, and deliverables using Microsoft Project.
• Project Management Support: Assist in the management of small capital and/or expense projects.
• Documentation & Data Management: Develop operational and maintenance training documentation, help aids, and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
• Engineering Support: Assist in solving issues by applying engineering principles and practices.
• Financial Documentation: Prepare project savings and justification documents, and assist with managing engineering project spending documentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student, currently enrolled at an accredited college/university, with a High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), and demonstrated ability to manage complexity.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team; ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.
• Bonus: Self-motivated, able to work independently, team-oriented, customer-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks while providing leadership to other team members.
