Job Description: Engineering Intern
• Primary Purpose: The Engineering Intern program is designed to provide a first-hand experience of Mountaire’s culture and its family-oriented work environment. Interns will fulfill designated duties within a specialized area of operation, gaining hands-on experience with mentors and completing assigned projects. The role includes assisting in plant layout drawings and supporting the design of upcoming projects.
• Major Duties & Responsibilities:
• Completes assigned tasks identified by department mentor
• Attends semi-monthly seminar series
• Completes and presents summer project presentation
• Completes internship evaluations at weeks 5 and 10
• Follows all company safety policies, standard operating procedure (SOP) regulations, as well as supports the Goal Zero mission statement
• AutoCad Design:
• Present ideas, be able to improve design based on feedback
• Design Projects:
• Be able to justify cost and paybacks
• Communicate with end users in the plant, engineering, safety, and outside vendors to complete studies and possible implementation of projects.
• Qualifications:
• Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university.
• Valid Driver’s license
• Must pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
• Engineering Major
• AutoCAD experience required.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Self-Motivated.
