This entry-level Engineer Level I position focuses primarily on distribution projects, where successful candidates will receive comprehensive training to develop and coordinate designs for energy delivery solutions. The role is crucial for ensuring the foundational engineering and planning of power distribution systems.

• Mission: Design, develop, and coordinate power distribution projects, ensuring robust energy delivery solutions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Calculations: Perform essential engineering calculations, including structural analysis of poles, guying calculations, cable pulling analysis, electric demand assessment, fault current analysis, and coordination of protective devices.
• Trimming Requests: Prepare and submit forestry trimming requests necessary for project implementation.
• Permitting: Facilitate the acquisition of required permits and Right-of-Way for distribution projects.
• Materials and Estimates: Develop a comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) and provide accurate cost estimates for project components.
• Design Development: Engage actively in design development and coordination throughout project lifecycles, accounting for approximately 90% of the role.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-career professional with an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering, demonstrating knowledge of Power Distribution principles and practices.
• Experience: 0+ years of experience in an engineering role, with proficiency in AutoCAD required for design development.
• Skills: Strong understanding of Power Distribution principles, ability to perform essential engineering calculations, and expertise in AutoCAD.
• Bonus: Experience with other CAD Design tools like Revit, Solidworks, MicroStation, Inventor, or MATLAB; possession of a valid Driver’s License; a strong interest in Power Utilities and Distribution; and excellent teamwork and leadership skills.
