Job Description

We are currently seeking candidates with an Engineering degree to join our team as Distribution Engineers. These positions will primarily focus on Distribution projects. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training from two advanced-level Distribution Engineers, ensuring a strong foundation in the field.

The role primarily involves design development and coordination, accounting for approximately 90% of the time. Occasional fieldwork will be required after several months on the job, making up about 10% of the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential engineering calculations, including:
  • Structural analysis of poles
  • Guying calculations
  • Cable pulling analysis
  • Electric demand assessment
  • Fault current analysis
  • Coordination of protective devices
• Prepare and submit forestry trimming requests.
• Facilitate the acquisition of necessary permits and Right-of-Way.
• Develop a comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) and provide accurate cost estimates.
• Engage actively in design development and coordination throughout project lifecycles.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Power Distribution principles and practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• An ABET-accredited 4-year Engineering Degree is required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with other CAD Design tools such as Revit, Solidworks, MicroStation, Inventor, MATLAB is a plus.
• Possession of a Valid Driver’s License.
• A strong passion and interest in Power Utilities and Distribution.
• 0+ years of experience are welcome; this is an entry-level opportunity.
• Excellent teamwork and leadership skills.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position located in Orlando, Florida. The office environment fosters a collaborative atmosphere, consisting of a mix of Designers, Engineers, and Design Technicians who actively support distribution projects. It promotes teamwork and involves working in groups on various projects. The setting includes collaboration with industry-leading construction partners to deliver meaningful energy delivery solutions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 – $30.00/hr.
