Employee Benefits Associate Analyst – January 2027 Career Development Program | USI Insurance Services
The Tone:
This 12-month career development program is designed for recent graduates interested in building a foundational understanding of employee benefits, financial analysis, and benefit strategy. Through structured training and hands-on experience, participants will develop analytical skills, learn how benefit plans are evaluated and managed, and gain exposure to factors influencing plan performance and cost. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, participate in a mentorship program, and take on increasing responsibility as your knowledge and skills grow. The program also offers opportunities for networking and community involvement through initiatives like USI Gives Back.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Analysis: Work with financial data to support client deliverables and reporting across a variety of business segments.
• Plan Evaluation: Review insurance renewals and evaluate new business proposals to help clients make informed benefit decisions.
• Performance Assessment: Prepare market reviews, funding projections, and claims utilization analyses to evaluate plan performance.
• Cost Management: Help identify cost-saving opportunities using analytical tools and support negotiations related to premium rates and benefit plan features.
• Client Communication: Turn your analysis into clear, client-ready summaries that highlight observations and key findings, and participate in internal strategy meetings.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Earned a bachelor’s degree within the past two years, with a keen interest in building a foundation in employee benefits, financial analysis, and benefit strategy.
• Experience: Comfortable working with data in Excel, specifically capable of building tables and analyzing information.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities; capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; exceptional attention to detail and accuracy; clear communication and collaborative teamwork skills; eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow professionally.
