Emerge Program Associate – Commercial | WIDIA

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Kennametal, an industrial technology leader with over 85 years of experience delivering productivity through materials science, tooling, and wear-resistant solutions. The EMERGE program is designed to build emerging leaders within Kennametal through diverse experiences, expand perspectives, and accelerate career development. This specific program associate role in the Commercial Track is crucial for understanding how Kennametal generates revenue and delivers valuable products, solutions, and know-how to customers daily.

• Team: Part of Kennametal’s EMERGE Early-Career Leadership Development Program, within the Commercial Track.
• Mission: Solve the challenge of building future commercial leaders who understand how Kennametal generates revenue and delivers value to customers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Participation: Participate in a 2-year early-career leadership development program with diverse functional rotations across Kennametal’s business.
• Functional Rotation: Rotate through key areas such as Sales, Portfolio Management, Project Management, Marketing, Technology, and Manufacturing within the Commercial Track.
• Technical Learning: Actively learn about metal cutting and understand how Kennametal products provide technical solutions to customers.
• Business Growth: Develop an understanding of how Kennametal generates revenue and identify new channels for business expansion.
• Skill Development: Acquire leadership, professional, and technical skills essential for driving performance and integration among various business functions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, completing a final academic year in a Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field of study.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience is required for this early-career development program.
• Skills: Strong organization, facilitation, leadership, project management, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Candidates with a minimum overall GPA of 3.2 are preferred.
