The Tone:
This is an internship at PCMag, a leading authority on technology that provides thousands of lab-based, independent reviews. The role is open to local candidates in New York City, NY, with consideration for remote candidates. This position offers an opportunity to immerse oneself in digital media, learn how products are tested and reviewed, and contribute to industry-leading tech buying advice, news, and service journalism. Interns work alongside experienced writers and editors, gaining hands-on experience on valuable projects that advance the company’s mission.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (20-29 hours per week)
• Location: Hybrid, New York City, NY
• Pay: $25 hourly
• Team: Works with News, Features, and Reviews teams under team leaders.
• Mission: Help deliver industry-leading tech buying advice, news, and service journalism and develop a career in digital media.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Product Testing: Assist with product testing and draft initial reviews under editorial guidance.
• Content Creation: Write news, long-form articles, how-to guides, and tips stories about the latest tech products and services.
• Editorial Support: Participate in the editing process, assist with proofreading, and format stories.
• Project Support: Contribute to other editorial projects as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career individuals with foundational industry knowledge and a writing/reporting focus.
• Experience: Demonstrable writing and/or editing experience beyond classwork.
• Skills: Exceptional communication, strong affinity for technology, willingness to learn, self-motivation and adaptability.
• Bonus: Published writing samples.
