Job Description: Editorial Intern (Winter 2026)

Role: Bloomsbury Academic Publishing is seeking an Editorial Intern to join their team for Winter 2026. This internship plays a key part in the day-to-day operations of the editorial team, providing exposure to diverse aspects of academic publishing across their Introductory Reference, Bloomsbury Libraries Unlimited, and ABC-Clio database publishing imprints.

Key Responsibilities: As an Editorial Intern, you will work closely with the editorial team on a variety of projects, including:

• Working with data systems such as Biblio as needed.
• Performing testing on digital product platforms.
• Managing submissions to the Cataloging-in-Publication and Library of Congress programs.
• Managing departmental shipping.
• Completing various administrative tasks.
• Conducting course, academic, and picture research.
• Assisting with the creation of book resources, such as PowerPoints for instructors.
• Opportunities to take on additional editorial projects may also arise.

Duration: The internship runs from January 13, 2026, to March 31, 2026.

Requirements: The company is looking for a creative and motivated individual who possesses the following skills:

High level of familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Firm grasp of grammar and spelling, coupled with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work efficiently and independently.
Strong communication skills, essential for a fast-paced professional environment.

Commitment and Schedule:

• A commitment of 15-20 hours per week is required for the entire internship term.
• Scheduling is flexible, but work must occur during standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5:30 PM EST.

Compensation:

• This position pays minimum wage ($18.00/hour).
• Candidates may also arrange for college credit for the placement to supplement the compensation.

Location and Work Model:

• Candidates must reside in NY, NJ, CT, PA, or CA and be able to work during the local office hours (Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5:30 PM EST).
• Bloomsbury operates on a hybrid basis, meaning the intern will be asked to work from the office one to two times per week.
