This is a Student Intern position at Milton CAT, a company that provides equipment repair and service for earthmoving and construction machinery across New England and upstate New York. This internship offers students a valuable opportunity to apply their academic achievements in a real-world setting, gaining practical experience and exploring potential career paths within the company’s diverse operations. Interns are considered integral team members, contributing directly to the Earthmoving & Compact Equipment Service Department.

• Mission: To gain hands-on experience by contributing to the repair and service of earthmoving and compact equipment while applying academic knowledge.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of earthmoving and compact equipment.
• Apply academic knowledge of diesel engines, electric generators, power distribution, and associated equipment in practical settings.
• Collaborate with the Service Department team, gaining valuable hands-on experience in equipment diagnostics and servicing.
• Contribute to various business functions beyond service, including operations, finance, marketing, or warehousing.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a student in a public, private, or accredited academic institution majoring in a diesel or heavy equipment program.
• Experience: Knowledge of diesel engine, electric generator, power distribution, and associated equipment.
• Skills: Excellent computer and related software skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with strong organization and time management abilities. Versatility and flexibility to adapt to new situations.
• Bonus: A fast learner with a 3.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale. Demonstrated leadership ability and team-building skills. Ability to commute to the work location on a daily basis.
