They partner with the DOD to place top-tier STEM students in immersive, hands-on internships. GENERAL INFOMATICS, INC. Federal supports the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering’s Test Resource Management Center (TRMC), which is responsible for overseeing the DOD’s National Test and Evaluation infrastructure.

Job Description

This is an internship opportunity for the DOD TRMC Internship Program.

Program Overview:
The Test Resource Management Center Internship (TRMCi) Program aims to place top college students in STEM fields at Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) locations across the country. It provides hands-on, real-world experience supporting the Department of Defense’s national security missions.

Program Details:
Internship Dates: A 10-week paid internship from June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026.
Focus: STEM-focused roles in various fields including engineering, computer science, data science, physics, mathematics, mechatronics, electronics, advanced manufacturing, and more.
Typical Projects: Projects vary by location but may include engineering analysis, systems testing, data science, cybersecurity, modeling & simulation, and software development.
Compensation: This is a paid internship, and interns receive hourly compensation.
Benefits: Eligible participants will have housing, travel, and logistical support arranged and paid for by the program.
Location: In-person at DOD Test and Evaluation Ranges across the Nation. Interns are assigned to Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) sites and other supporting DoD locations. Placement is based on skillset, security clearance eligibility, and mission needs.

Air Force: Arnold Engineering Development Complex (TN), National Full-Scale Aerodynamics Complex (CA), 704th Test Group (NM), 412th Test Wing (CA), 96th Test Wing (FL), Space Launch Delta 30 (CA), Space Launch Delta 45 (FL).
Army: West Desert Test Center (UT), Electronic Proving Ground (AZ), Aberdeen Test Center (MD), Reagan Test Site (AL HQ, Kwajalein Atoll Range), White Sands Test Center (NM), Yuma Test Center (AZ), Redstone Test Center (AL).
Navy: Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (Point Mugu, CA; China Lake, CA), Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (Patuxent River, MD), Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport Division (AUTEC – Bahamas), Naval Undersea Warfare Center Keyport Division (WA), Pacific Missile Range Facility (HI).
Tri-Service / Defense Agencies: Joint Interoperability Test Command (Ft. Huachuca, AZ; Ft. Meade, MD).
National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC’s): Patuxent River, MD, Orlando, FL, Charleston, SC, Augusta, GA.

Candidate Requirements:
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Education Pathways: Must be actively pursuing one of the following:
Traditional STEM Pathway: Current students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM (e.g., engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics).
Artisan/Technical Pathway: Current students in trade/technical school or community college programs in specialized fields (e.g., mechatronics, electronics, advanced manufacturing).
Academic Performance: Must demonstrate strong academic performance.
Interest: Strong interest in national security or defense-related careers (no prior DoD experience is required, but an interest in national security, defense technology, or government service is encouraged).
Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and pass a government background check.
