The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Outfield Healthcare Partners. The company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to take ultimate responsibility for the administration and management of Nursing Services provided to residents. This critical leadership position ensures that all resident care adheres strictly to physician orders and comprehensively addresses the total needs of each individual. The Director of Nursing is also vital for maintaining superior quality standards across the Nursing Department, aligning practices with current Federal, State, and Outfield Healthcare Partners’ guidelines and regulations. Furthermore, this role is integral to the center’s operational continuity, as the DON assumes full responsibility for facility operations during the Administrator’s absence.

• Mission: To ensure the comprehensive administration and 24-hour supervision of Nursing Services, delivering quality care that aligns with medical orders, resident needs, and regulatory standards, while overseeing the Nursing Department’s operational excellence.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Clinical Leadership & Compliance: Assume ultimate responsibility for coordinating and ensuring the execution of total care plans for each resident. This includes meticulously complying with physician’s orders, all relevant governmental regulations, and established facility resident care policies.
• Operational Oversight & Management: Provide continuous 24-hour supervision for all Nursing Services. This encompasses directing the Nursing Department to consistently maintain high-quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State, and Company guidelines. In the absence of the Administrator, this role also involves assuming full responsibility for managing center operations to ensure seamless continuity.
• Policy Communication & Implementation: Effectively communicate and clearly interpret all nursing policies and procedures to the nursing staff. A key part of this involves actively monitoring staff practices to ensure consistent and correct implementation of these guidelines across all shifts and services.
• Strategic Admissions & Team Collaboration: Play an active role in all admissions decisions, including potentially visiting prospective residents prior to their admission to assess their needs. Additionally, participate in daily and weekly management team meetings, contributing to discussions on resident status, census changes, personnel matters, and addressing any resident complaints or concerns.
• Nursing Process Execution: Conduct the entire nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—operating under the full scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act for Registered Nurse licensure.
The Must-Haves
• Education: Possess an Associate or Bachelor Degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Licensure: Hold a current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where the practice will occur.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of direct nursing supervisory experience is required.
• Bonus: Five years of experience within either long-term or acute health care settings is preferred.
