What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy & Business Planning: Take ownership of strategy and business planning for interest rate derivatives across Oceania, collaborating closely with executive leadership to achieve both financial and non-financial targets.
• Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead and inspire a Sydney-based team of professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster individual growth and collective success in delivering outstanding customer experiences.
• Client Acquisition & Relationship Building: Actively promote and acquire new customers for interest rate derivative products, engaging in the Oceania market through effective networking and building strong, long-term senior management client relationships.
• Internal Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary day-to-day contact for internal stakeholders, coordinating activities across departments such as Corporate & Institutional Banking, Japanese Corporate Banking, and Project Finance to deliver seamless service and innovative solutions.
• Market Expertise & Compliance: Provide subject matter expertise on interest rate derivatives to internal Relationship Managers and Product Offices, while ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, regulations, and laws under dual-hat responsibilities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate degree in a business-related field, with significant expertise in interest rate derivatives and proven experience structuring complex hedging solutions for corporate or institutional clients.
• Experience: More than ten years’ experience in corporate or institutional interest rate roles, with a track record of delivering revenue targets and established client relationships across a broad customer base within the financial sector.
• Skills: Strong technical ability in pricing and structuring sophisticated derivative products, superior communication skills for building trust with internal stakeholders and external clients, advanced organizational skills for managing multiple priorities, adaptability to changing market conditions, and a commitment to mentoring team members.
• Bonus: AFMA accreditation or equivalent professional qualifications.
