The Tone:
This is a full-time leadership role at a community hospital organization, located on-site at the hospital campus. The organization is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. This high-impact leadership role drives safe, efficient operations and environmental excellence for the 85,000-square-foot facility, directly contributing to patient care and community well-being. The role is critical for maintaining continuous compliance with vital regulatory standards and leading a dedicated facilities team.

• Pay: $90000–$115000 yearly
• Team: Manages 5 direct reports: Senior Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Mechanic (plus per diem support), EVS Supervisor, and Purchasing Coordinator.
• Mission: Owns Joint Commission survey readiness and ensures safe, efficient facility operations and a high-quality patient environment.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Leadership & Direction: Provide overall leadership and direction for facilities management operations across the hospital campus.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure continuous compliance with Joint Commission standards, Environment of Care requirements, and all applicable regulatory codes, leading survey readiness and serving as the primary expert.
• Operations Oversight: Oversee maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance programs, and building systems for an 85,000-square-foot facility, while also directing environmental services (EVS) operations.
• Team & Budget Management: Manage a team of 5 direct reports, including maintenance, EVS, and purchasing staff, and develop and manage departmental budgets, work orders, and vendor relationships.
• Strategic Partnership: Partner with hospital leadership, the senior team, and regional facilities leadership on capital planning, safety, and operational initiatives to support patient care environments.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Director-level experience with strong knowledge of healthcare facility operations, building systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience: Hospital-based facilities management experience, direct Joint Commission survey experience, and proven leadership managing a team of maintenance technicians and related facilities staff are required.
• Skills: Regulatory compliance, budget management, team leadership, vendor management, and preventive maintenance program development.
