Digital Area Service Manager | Trane Technologies

• Team: Leads BAS technicians and engineers.
• Mission: Lead the full lifecycle of Digital Services, including repairs, upgrades, service agreements, and new equipment installation, ensuring customer connectivity and satisfaction.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft applications, Salesforce
What You’ll Actually Do
• Own P&L: Own profit and loss performance for digital services by forecasting revenue and driving growth across service agreements, repairs, and installations through partnership with the sales team.
• Lead Operations: Direct service coordination and resource planning to ensure efficient customer response, balanced technician skill coverage, and effective utilization for emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and new installations.
• Develop Talent: Attract, coach, develop, and retain digital service talent through effective recruiting, consistent coaching, training, and performance management.
• Control Costs & Risk: Control budgets and overhead expenses by managing items such as fleet and tools, while mitigating risk across all service agreements, turnkey work, and repairs.
• Ensure Compliance: Champion Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance across the service team, providing training that supports a safe, productive work environment in the shop and at customer sites.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Managerial role with 5+ years of experience in HVAC Building Automation Systems (BAS) controls or a related technical field (technical systems/equipment/skilled trades).
• Experience: 3+ years of experience managing and coaching teams and organizing work schedules, combined with 5+ years in building automation installation and/or BAS-focused project management, including coordinating field execution, startups, and customer handoff.
• Skills: Project management capability for planning and driving execution, strong execution discipline to manage multiple jobs and ensure on-time delivery, cross-functional leadership to partner with sales and operations, and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Bonus: Salesforce experience is an asset, and a valid driver’s license (minimum 12 months) with no major or frequent traffic violations in the previous 3 years is required.
