Deloitte Government & Public Services Risk & Financial Advisory Intern – Data Management Solutions

Position Summary:

Deloitte’s Discovery practice seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to assist clients and their legal counsel in collecting, preserving, and analyzing large and disparate datasets. This information is crucial in supporting or refuting claims in investigations and complex litigation, aiding data remediation efforts, facilitating data transfer, and supporting claims management. The role involves leveraging investigative skills alongside advanced computer labs and cutting-edge technology to offer innovative solutions to client challenges.

What you’ll do:

Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Perform in-depth data analysis and present findings to support investigations related to fraud, embezzlement, theft of intellectual property, data management, and cybercrime.
• Create compelling dashboards using tools like Tableau, Kibana, Qlik, and Power BI to help clients visualize their data environment.
Quality Control & Process Improvement:
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure high-quality deliverables on engagements.
• Propose and implement new quality control measures to optimize data integrity and efficiency.
Client Engagement & Technological Expertise:
• Participate in client discussions surrounding emerging technologies like cloud computing, automation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
• Contribute a point of view on how these technologies can be leveraged to address client needs.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent delivery and subject matter expertise.
General Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
• Demonstrate a consultative approach, delivering innovative and value-added services.
• Manage multiple projects and responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following majors:
Technology: Data Analytics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems
Business: Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics
Math/Engineering: Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, Statistics, Actuarial
• Strong academic track record (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
• Willingness to travel up to 50% on average
• Must live within a commutable distance to the assigned office (100-mile radius)
• At least 18 years of age at the time of employment

Preferred:

• Strong academic track record (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2)
• Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Ability to write or understand Pseudocode and generate technical requirements
• Working knowledge of operating systems, file systems, and cloud technology (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

Compensation:

The wage range for this role takes into account factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The current range estimate is $36.06 to $41.35.
