This Dealership Accounting Assistant position is vital for supporting the dealership’s financial operations by processing accounts payable, reviewing accounts, and ensuring daily accounting activities are accurate, organized, and run smoothly.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Management: Receive, review, and process vendor invoices daily, then reconcile vendor statements to ensure accurate and timely payments.
• Monthly Payments & Tax Compliance: Prepare monthly accounts payable checks, maintain W-9 documentation for vendors, and prepare and distribute 1099 forms annually.
• Accounts Receivable Oversight: Prepare and distribute monthly accounts receivable statements, monitor outstanding balances, and report past-due accounts to the Controller.
• Sales Tax Exemption & Daily Posting: Maintain accurate records of Sales and Use Tax Exemption Certificates, obtain updated certificates, and post daily deals.
• Financial Reconciliation & Support: Assist with month-end reconciliations, reconcile company VISA statements, and support the Controller with assigned projects and duties.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associates degree in accounting preferred or 5 years of accounting work experience. Must have knowledge of accounting principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service.
• Experience: 5 years of accounting work experience or an Associate’s degree in accounting. Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, along with administrative and clerical procedures for managing files and records.
• Skills: Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette, strong organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication, ability to establish productive cooperative relationships, and ability to work independently. A valid driver’s license is required for essential job functions and occasional travel.
• Bonus: An Associates degree in accounting is preferred.
