About the Role: Data Scientist Intern – Global e-commerce Data Science (US Operations)

The Global e-commerce Data Science team is dedicated to maximizing the efficiency of e-commerce transactions, leading product decision-making iterations, and achieving sustainable revenue growth. We accomplish this through data and scientific methods, utilizing quantitative techniques such as mathematical statistics and machine learning.

This internship role, based within our US Operations team, focuses on providing critical data solutions to E-commerce Operations teams. You will play a key part in solving interesting challenges for our Creators & Merchants.

Internship Program Overview

We are seeking talented individuals for our 2026 Internship Program. Internships at TikTok are designed to offer students significant industry exposure and hands-on experience, enabling you to bring your ambitions to life and discover infinite opportunities.

• Program Goal: Develop fundamental skills, explore potential career paths, apply knowledge in real-world scenarios, and build a strong foundation for personal and professional growth.
• Duration: This is a 12-week, full-time work period.
• Enrichment: Beyond core work, interns will have access to a vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Developing metrics and dashboards to accurately measure business performance.
• Identifying trends and patterns from data and providing clear attribution for metric movement.
• Providing actionable insights to directly drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, engineering, economics, or related disciplines.
• Must be a proactive, self-driven, and impact-driven individual, eager to make a tangible difference.
• Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to commit to a 12-week full-time work period during Summer or Fall 2026.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQL and experience with one of the main data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
• Prior E-commerce or online marketplace experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits (Campus Intern)

【For Pay Transparency】

• Hourly Rate Range: The hourly rate for this position in the selected city is $33.25 – $52.25.
• Benefits: Interns receive day one access to health insurance, life insurance, and wellbeing benefits. Additionally, interns are provided with 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 if hired in the second half of the year).
• Housing Allowance: Interns who are not working 100% remotely may also be eligible for a housing allowance.
