Job Description: Data Engineering Intern
This 10-week paid internship is part of Ingram Micro’s summer internship program and is located in their Irvine, CA office with a hybrid work schedule (a few days remote per week). The internship offers a chance to contribute to meaningful projects within the Global Database Administration and Engineering department. This department focuses on system monitoring, automating operational processes to ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of software systems and applications, and streamlining deployment processes.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate servers/jobs requiring monitoring and adjust thresholds as needed.
• Ensure data systems and infrastructure maintain high performance, availability, and data integrity.
• Assist in optimizing data pipelines.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within the last semester/quarter) from an accredited college/university program.
• Experience writing Shell/Python scripts.
• Strong technical aptitude for learning cloud technologies.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Additional Program Details:
The internship program runs for 10 weeks (two cohorts: June 2nd-August 8th and June 16th-August 22nd). It’s a 40-hour/week position, Monday-Friday, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The program includes personalized learning & development sessions, interactive training, executive speaker events, group projects, and networking opportunities with top leaders. The typical base pay range is USD $46,000.00 – $73,600.00 per year (pro-rated for the internship duration). Benefits may be offered depending on location and company policies. A background check and drug test are required.
