Job Description: Data Analytics Intern
This internship focuses on supporting data integrity and analysis to drive strategic initiatives across Eagle Point Software. The intern will gain hands-on experience in data preparation, reporting, and cross-departmental analysis using platforms such as Power BI, Snowflake, and Sigma.
Responsibilities:
• Report Transition Support: The intern will assist in migrating existing Power BI reports to newer platforms like Snowflake and Sigma. This involves recreating reports in the new platforms while referencing the original reports for accuracy. Collaboration with the data team to ensure data readiness for these tools is also required.
• Department Strategic Reporting: The intern will work closely with various departments to understand their challenges and goals. They will conduct weekly “sprints” involving data gathering, analysis, and presentation of actionable insights to support evolving departmental needs.
• Self-Directed Project: The intern will select a project aligned with their interests and career aspirations. This could involve dashboard development, predictive modeling, or contributions to the company’s internal AI strategy. Mentorship and support will be provided throughout this project.
Requirements:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with Power BI or other BI/reporting tools.
• Familiarity with SQL and cloud data platforms like Snowflake is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong analytical mindset.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative.
