Critical Operations Associate | QTS Data Centers

This is a full-time role at QTS Data Centers. This Critical Operations Associate role is vital for monitoring the continuous operation of building systems and providing essential in-person and remote support to customers on the data center floor, ensuring smooth and reliable service delivery.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monitor and routinely assess the performance and operation of critical building systems and equipment.
• Provide direct assistance to customers on the data center floor, both in person and via telephone, including supporting equipment installations.
• Manage and create tickets within the established system for customer requests and operational alerts, escalating issues to senior technicians when necessary.
• Perform regular facility tours to ensure all critical and non-critical systems are operating as designed.
• Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring safe and compliant operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma, Technical college degree, or equivalent professional experience. Candidates must agree to successfully complete all career pathing qualifications for the Critical Operations Associate and COT I within two years of their start date.
• Experience: One or more years of technical training, military training, or equivalent professional work experience.
• Skills: Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Outlook, and web-based computer applications. Possess a strong customer focus with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interface effectively with all organizational levels. Ability to analyze operations of various systems, diagnose problems and malfunctions, and implement corrective actions. Capacity to acquire and apply job-related knowledge within set guidelines and expectations, and function effectively in a team environment.
• Bonus: Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and/or network infrastructure concepts and theory. One or more years of work experience in a mission-critical or similar environment.
