Paralegal | Delaware North

The Tone:
This is a corporate paralegal role at Delaware North’s Global Headquarters, located in Buffalo, New York. Delaware North is a family-owned company with over 100 years of history, operating globally to shape the future of hospitality. This role is crucial for supporting the delivery of legal services to Delaware North’s business operations, ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance, and providing essential research and analysis to inform strategic business decisions.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, Buffalo, NY
• Pay: $27.97–$46 hourly
• Team: Corporate legal team, reporting to Law Department counsel
• Mission: Support the delivery of legal services by focusing on contract review, regulatory compliance, and legal research to facilitate business operations and decisions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word), Office 365, AI platforms (preferably Microsoft Copilot), project tools (preferably SmartSheet)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Partnership: Partner closely with in-house counsel to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
• Workflow Management: Manage workflows for various contacts and compliance matters.
• Information Synthesis: Gather and organize facts, business information, and supporting materials from internal stakeholders to aid legal review and decision-making.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a liaison between the Law Department and internal business partners to facilitate information requests, status updates, and follow-up actions.
• Strategic Input: Make recommendations and suggestions to the Law Department regarding decisions and actions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, coupled with a strong knowledge of business transactional legal concepts, business organizational issues, and company-specific business organization structure.
• Experience: Seven years of experience acquired from a law firm or corporate setting.
• Skills: Ability to perform factual and legal research and analysis within contractual documentation; capacity to respond effectively to time-critical, sensitive, unique, and complex business organization transactions; strong organization and attention to detail; ability to multitask a high volume of work; intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word.
• Bonus: Working knowledge of Office 365, AI platforms (preferably Microsoft Copilot), and project tools (preferably SmartSheet).
