Corporate Development Director | Global Payments Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Global Payments Inc., located in Atlanta, Georgia. Global Payments is a leader engaged in M&A efforts, driving global commerce. This director position is integral, actively shaping the company’s growth strategy by identifying, evaluating, and executing critical acquisition opportunities to expand its market presence and capabilities. The role demands a collaborative, hands-on approach within small, fast-moving deal teams.

What You’ll Actually Do
Analysis & Modeling: Conduct comprehensive financial modeling and detailed analyses for potential acquisitions.
Presentation Development: Prepare insightful presentations for Global Payments’ management and board of directors.
Acquisition Leadership: Lead the identification and evaluation of potential acquisition candidates, overseeing valuation, term sheet preparation, due diligence, and supporting negotiations.
Research & Intelligence: Perform in-depth industry and company research to inform M&A strategy and candidate assessment.
Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate and interact with internal colleagues across Global Payments, as well as external parties including investment bankers, private equity firms, and other companies.

The Must-Haves
Background: Bachelor’s degree. Director-level experience with a strong foundation in corporate development and M&A processes.
Experience: 5 to 7 years in investment banking (M&A, industry coverage, or leveraged finance), private equity, or corporate development. Experience directing a team of analysts and/or associates. Extensive financial analysis experience in Excel, including merger models and LBO/cash flow modeling. Proven expertise in valuing public and private companies using comparable companies and precedent transactions analyses. A detailed understanding of financial markets, the M&A deal process, and public company operations.
Skills: Advanced financial modeling in Excel, including merger and LBO/cash flow models. Expertise in public and private company valuation methodologies. Comprehensive understanding of M&A deal processes. Strong analytical and industry research capabilities. Outstanding written and spoken communication skills.
Bonus: Bachelor’s degree with a business degree preferred. Prior knowledge of the payments or software industries. Familiarity with FactSet, Capital IQ, PitchBook, and Wall Street research tools.
