Corporate Affairs Internal Communications Intern | Nestlé

The Tone:
This is an internship at Nestlé, located in Arlington, VA. This unique role offers hands-on experience across both internal and external communications, supporting Corporate Affairs initiatives including government relations, public policy, and stakeholder engagement. You will also contribute to internal communications across One Operations and the Center for Demand Generation, sitting at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and business impact.

• Mission: To facilitate storytelling, strategy, and business impact through the development of leadership messages, huddle content, policy monitoring, and advocacy support.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monitor Policy: Monitor and analyze local, state, and federal policy issues relevant to the organization, supporting the planning and execution of advocacy and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Develop Communications: Support the development of comprehensive internal communications materials, including organizational announcements, leadership messages, presentations, and recurring business updates.
• Document Outcomes: Attend various meetings, briefings, and events, providing clear, concise summaries of key discussions and their outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
• Support Business Rhythms: Assist with business rhythms for the Center for Demand Generation (CDG) and One Operations, encompassing huddle preparation, content updates, and meeting recaps.
• Gather Information: Collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams to gather essential information, compelling stories, and timely updates for a variety of internal communication channels.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Marketing, or Journalism.
• Experience: Academic success, demonstrated by a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Skills:
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively tailor messages to different audiences.
• Research & Analysis: Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills, coupled with keen attention to detail.
• Collaboration: A collaborative team player who interacts effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
• Creativity: A creative thinker capable of bringing fresh, out-of-the-box ideas to strategic discussions.
• Proactivity: Proactive, curious, and eager to learn across multiple areas of the business.
• Bonus: Previous internship or volunteer experience in communications, government, public affairs, or a related field.
