Construction Intern Opportunity
D.R. Horton, Inc. is actively seeking a motivated and dedicated Construction Intern to join our team. This immersive internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various facets of home construction management, working alongside experienced Construction Managers and Superintendents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Construction Managers and Superintendents with the comprehensive management of job site functions related to home construction.
- Support in the scheduling and supervision of job sites, learning critical project coordination skills.
- Develop an understanding of the importance of uniformity in construction methods and adherence to company policies and construction standards.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement within the construction system.
- Assist in the execution of company policies to ensure strict compliance with established quality standards.
- Embrace opportunities to explore other operational areas within the division, both inside and outside the assigned department, to gain a broader understanding of the business.
- Conduct all business interactions in a professional and ethical manner, contributing positively to customer relations and overall company goodwill and profitability.
Qualifications:
- Education: Must currently be enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and email communication is required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Work Environment: Must have the ability to work occasional overtime and be willing to travel overnight as needed.
