The Tone:
This is a Summer Analyst Program at Bank of America, designed for students interested in global markets. Bank of America’s Global Markets business provides sales and trading services, along with research, to institutional clients across various asset classes including fixed-income, credit, currency, commodity, and equity businesses. This program offers interns the chance to engage directly with sales and trading functions within the commodities sector, contributing to client relationships and market analysis. Participants will gain practical experience and knowledge in supporting the complex world of commodity trading and structured deals.

• Team: Global Markets business, rotating through commodity desks (structuring/origination, sales, oil, natural gas, power, investor products)
• Mission: Support commodities sales and trading functions by building client relationships and assisting traders in market analysis and strategy development.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transactions: Work on specific commodity-related transactions, including deal valuation and structuring, and participate in developing structured deal solutions for customers.
• Strategy: Assist market strategists and traders to integrate fundamental points of view with trading strategies.
• Business Development: Develop marketing presentations, models, assimilate historical data, and generate reports to create interest in commodities and develop new business.
• Client Relations: Focus on building and maintaining relationships with clients by matching Bank of America’s services to their needs, relaying investment research, market information, and marketing ideas.
• Trading Support: Add value in a support role, increasing knowledge through reading financial publications, shadowing traders, talking to sales, and generating and monitoring trade ideas.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a graduation timeframe between November 2027 and August 2028.
• Experience: Entry-level position for current university students.
• Skills: Demonstrated quantitative skills, superior analytical and organizational skills, strong written and oral communications skills, ability to manage several projects at once, and ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
• Bonus: 3.2 minimum GPA preferred; strong interest in global financial markets, the commodities sector, and complex structures; knowledge of financial derivatives and global energy markets; background in accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, statistics, or programming.
