Student Co-op – Southeast Michigan | DTE Energy

The Tone:
This is a student co-op program at DTE Energy, located in Southeast Michigan. DTE Energy is one of the nation’s largest diversified energy companies, providing electric and gas services and being Michigan’s largest source of renewable energy. The company also extends its reach to 19 states with affiliated businesses offering renewable energy, emission control technologies, and energy services. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Multi-term, minimum 16+ hours/week

What You’ll Actually Do
• Apply: Submit an application to a streamlined posting for consideration across multiple co-op job openings.
• Experience: Gain professional experience that is preferably aligned with an academic field of study.
• Commit: Fulfill the program requirement of working a minimum of 16 hours per week for two or more terms prior to graduation.
• Work: Contribute to DTE operations in either a hybrid or fully on-site capacity at an assigned work location.
• Support: Potentially support teams and projects within key areas such as engineering, business, or technology.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, or a graduating high school senior planning to attend college in the Fall.
• Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age by start date, available to work two or more terms (e.g., Winter, Summer, Fall) at a minimum of 16+ hours/week prior to graduation.
• Skills: Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA; interest in engineering (electrical, computer, civil), business (supply chain, finance, accounting, management), technology (computer science, information technology, data science, data analytics), construction management, or chemistry.
• Bonus: Valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation for positions requiring driving.
