Job Description: Clinical Evaluator (PASRR)
Acentra Health is seeking Clinical Evaluators (PASRR) for a PRN hybrid role in Garden City, Kansas, and its surrounding areas. This position combines remote work from a home office with local in-person travel for assessments. All travel expenses, including mileage and parking, are reimbursed, and necessary technology and equipment, including a laptop, are provided.
Job Summary:
The Clinical Evaluator (PASRR) will make a meaningful impact by conducting face-to-face Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) Level II assessments. The primary focus is to determine appropriate placements and next levels of care for individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), or Related Conditions (RC). These evaluations are conducted in various settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, and community-based environments, and are crucial for improving patient well-being and health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct accurate screenings and evaluations to develop informed level-of-care recommendations.
• Perform assessments in diverse settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, and community environments.
• Adhere to the state’s best standards in mental health practices, intellectual and developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and other conditions requiring nursing care.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards in developing level of care recommendations.
• Utilize independent judgment, deep clinical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex situations.
• Foster effective collaboration with healthcare professionals, patients, families, and support networks.
• Monitor personal metrics to ensure compliance with turnaround time requirements.
• Leverage technology by utilizing the state’s electronic system and Acentra Health’s proprietary platforms for efficient assessment management.
• Stay informed on current literature, regulations, and research related to long-term care, mental illness, medical conditions, and geriatrics.
• Ensure compliance with necessary workflows to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Efficiently prioritize and execute tasks with attention to detail.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
• Active, unrestricted licensure in the state of Kansas in one of the following fields: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Registered Nurse (RN), or another qualified Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP).
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree relevant to the field.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience assessing and diagnosing individuals with mental or psychiatric disorders, including expertise in complex differential diagnoses involving substance use, medical conditions, cognitive impairments, and dementia.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or related conditions.
• Working knowledge of Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) requirements as per Federal Regulation and state PASRR rules.
• Skilled in assessing and analyzing psychological, emotional, behavioral, and physical functioning to develop appropriate level of care recommendations.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders as outlined by the latest Diagnostic and Statistical Manual in use in Kansas.
• Strong communication skills, interacting effectively with individuals and groups through verbal, written, and electronic formats.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently within established timelines.
• Proficient in using computer-based software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
• Familiarity with public mental health and medical programs is considered a plus.
Compensation:
The compensation for this role ranges from $37.00 to $42.00 per hour. The final placement within this pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level, based on Acentra Health’s compensation program.
