This Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op role is pivotal in supporting essential site feasibility studies, which may involve fieldwork, technical report preparation, calculations, and the development of design plans and specifications. What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Planning and Design: Assist with the comprehensive planning, design, and permitting phases of diverse civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Document Preparation and Modification: Aid in the preparation and modification of various critical engineering documents, including detailed reports, specifications, design plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates, utilizing industry-standard engineering and design software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Site Data Analysis and Assessment: Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess crucial site characteristics such as soil composition, terrain, hydrological features, and topographical and geologic data, evaluating their impact on project planning and design.
• Feasibility Studies and Permitting Support: Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments; assist with sidewalk cost estimations; and determine overall project feasibility based on thorough collected data analysis.
• Field Inspection and Engineering Application: Provide essential field inspection services as needed for project oversight and progress monitoring, while applying knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics to various project tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Skills: Strong analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
• Bonus: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred; valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits.
