Key Responsibilities

As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting project teams by:

Design and Drafting Support: Offering direct support to senior engineers by actively utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D for design and drafting tasks, while also developing a strong understanding of complex plan interpretations.
Project Documentation Assistance: Providing essential project support through assisting in the drafting of critical documents, preparing due diligence/site analysis reports, generating engineer’s opinions of probable costs, developing project schedules, and conducting utility computations.
Research and Compliance: Conducting thorough research on properties and projects to ascertain zoning requirements, including adherence to both local and state regulations, ensuring project feasibility and compliance.
Field Work and Site Assessment: Completing essential site visits and field assignments as needed, gaining practical experience in data collection, site observation, and real-world project context.
Construction Services Support: Assisting in the preparation of various construction-related services, including the compilation of permit applications, drafting construction plans, and developing other related construction documents.
Communication and Project Management: Maintaining clear and consistent communication with the Project Manager and Team Leader regarding workload status, ensuring alignment with project timelines and contributing to the achievement of designated chargeability goals.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess:

Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
Essential Skills: Demonstrated strong communication (written and verbal), organization, interpersonal, and analytical skills crucial for effective teamwork and problem-solving.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) for daily tasks and communication.
Technical Aptitude: Entry-level experience with AutoCAD is highly preferred, indicating a foundational understanding of civil design software.
Work Ethic: Proven ability to work exceptionally well both within a team environment and independently, showcasing initiative and collaborative spirit.
