Product Engineer | Carrier

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Carrier, an industry leader in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions, particularly known for its high-performance chiller products. This role is critical for ensuring the successful manufacturing of duty products based on design specifications and non-standard requirements. The Product Engineer plays a pivotal role in enhancing chiller performance, cost-efficiency, manufacturability, serviceability, and quality, directly impacting customer satisfaction and product excellence.

• Mission: To ensure optimal manufacturing of chiller products, improve design for performance and cost, and provide crucial support for projects and quality resolution.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manufacturing Oversight & Design Improvement: Lead the manufacturing of duty products in the factory, ensuring precise adherence to engineering drawings, technical specifications, and non-standard order requirements. Collaborate actively with mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineers to propose significant design improvements aimed at enhancing chiller performance, reducing production costs, improving manufacturability and serviceability, and ensuring overall product quality.
• Data Center Project Support: Provide comprehensive engineering support for Data Center application projects, which involves preparing technical documentation, actively participating in project meetings, and assisting in the selection of appropriate chiller solutions.
• Engineer-To-Order (ETO) Assistance: Contribute to the design and manufacturing phases of Engineer-To-Order (ETO) projects, ensuring customized chiller solutions meet specific client requirements.
• Cost Reduction Initiative Leadership: Drive cost reduction projects in collaboration with various cross-functional teams. This includes identifying and selecting suitable suppliers, developing robust qualification plans, and accurately calculating and tracking realized savings.
• Field Troubleshooting & Quality Resolution: Conduct on-site troubleshooting at job sites to diagnose and resolve chiller quality issues, providing expert support to aftermarket teams. Take the lead on quality improvement projects when design-related changes are required to enhance product reliability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in HVAC or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and advanced capabilities in Excel VBA for data analysis and reporting.
• Skills: Exhibit strong communication skills, particularly fluent oral, reading, and writing abilities in English (CET-6 certification is mandatory). Display excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with both internal colleagues and external customers. Demonstrate strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Bonus: Prior experience utilizing engineering simulation, optimization, and data analysis software such as FORTRAN, C, MatLab, or Python is highly advantageous.
