Route Checker | Coca-Cola Consolidated

The Tone:
This is an hourly position at Coca-Cola Consolidated, located in Memphis, TN. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of all customer orders leaving the warehouse and the integrity of returning delivery trucks, directly contributing to operational success and customer satisfaction.

The TL;DR
• Role: Route Checker
• Type: Hourly
• Location: In-person, Memphis, TN
• Pay: $16.73–$21.06 hourly
• Mission: Ensure the accuracy of all customer orders leaving the warehouse and the accuracy of all route delivery trucks upon return.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Verify Customer Orders: Inspect built pallets for adequate construction, stabilization, and security, reviewing pick tickets to ensure product type and quantity are correct, and communicating with warehouse teammates for needed corrections.
• Inspect Returning Trucks: Determine if returning route delivery trucks are in proper condition for the check-in process and perform blind counts to compare against reported quantities, making necessary changes before finalizing the check-in.
• Document Discrepancies: Record any discrepancies, changes, additions, or subtractions required for a customer order on appropriate reports and provide information to the relevant personnel.
• Account for Returned Items: Ensure all returned product and deposit items from route delivery trucks are correctly classified, including out-of-date, damaged, and good items, as well as pallets.
• Maintain Work Area: Keep the work area and warehouse clean and safe, performing additional tasks such as pallet building as determined and requested by management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or GED; understanding of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
• Experience: Up to 12 months of work experience; ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse atmosphere.
• Skills: Attention to detail, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, ability to collaborate within a team environment, ability to coordinate and organize efficient warehouse processes, ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer screen.
• Bonus: PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification; Pallet Jack Certification.
