Job Description
Job Title: Cashier
The Cashier plays a crucial role in providing an excellent customer experience by interacting with customers as they enter and leave the retail store. This position is primarily focused on delivering outstanding customer service. Hours for this role may vary and can include some nights and weekends.
Pay Range: $12.00-$14.00 Depending on experience.
Organizational Relationships
- The Cashier reports directly to the Store Manager.
- The Cashier has no direct supervisory authority.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the retail store and assist with customer service questions.
- Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and handle inquiries appropriately.
- Accurately handle customer transactions utilizing the KCX cash register system.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
- Price store merchandise as requested by store management.
- Stock merchandise neatly on shelves as requested by store management.
- Efficiently handle customer returns according to store policy.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
Mental and Physical Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Long periods of standing.
- Frequent bending and twisting.
Education, Training and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Working Environment and Conditions
- Retail store environment.
- Exposure to cold and warm conditions.
- Irregular work schedule, including potential nights and weekends.
