Business Intelligence & Insights Intern | Eurofins

The Tone:
This is an internship at Eurofins, located in Lancaster, PA, with a hybrid on-site requirement of at least one day every other week. Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company that provides a unique range of analytical testing services across multiple industries, including food, environment, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic product testing, ensuring safety, authenticity, and sustainability. What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Support the Business Intelligence and Insights team in the development of assigned BI and analytics artifacts, including Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and data models.
• Analyze: Work with structured data sources and databases to prepare, validate, and analyze data, assisting with analytical analysis to identify trends and answer business questions.
• Document: Assist with creating, enhancing, and testing Power BI reports and dashboards, alongside documenting report requirements, model assumptions, data sources, and business logic.
• Validate: Support data quality review activities by checking report outputs, validating data logic, and identifying inconsistencies in BI artifacts.
• Collaborate: Collaborate effectively with team members to understand assigned work, communicate progress, and deliver assigned BI artifacts with quality and professionalism.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree with sophomore standing or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related technical field.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is required, but prior academic, internship, project, or personal experience working with data, databases, dashboards, reporting tools, programming, or analytics is preferred. Experience completing coursework or projects involving structured data, data analysis, SQL, Power BI, Python, Excel, or similar tools is also preferred.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to learn new technical tools and data concepts, ability to work collaboratively, clear written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Bonus: Exposure to Power BI, dashboards, reporting, data visualization, SQL, relational databases, structured data analysis, data modeling, semantic modeling, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Excel, Power Query, DAX, Python, R, or similar analytical tools.
