About the Role
The Business Development Specialist will play a critical role in supporting and executing the marketing and business development strategy for the firm’s US corporate practice, with global implications. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong execution mindset, capable of driving engagement with key clients and enhancing the firm’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond proactively to specific challenges and capitalize on opportunities within the US corporate practice.
- Support and actively execute the comprehensive US and global corporate practice marketing and business development strategy.
- Create, manage, and deliver compelling proposals and pitches, adept at responding to fast turn-around bids, strategic panels, and other emergent opportunities.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of all practice-specific collateral materials, experience lists, and related marketing resources are consistently maintained.
- Produce and oversee US corporate-specific content, campaigns, events, and relevant directory and award submissions to increase engagement with key clients and enhance the personal brands of leading practitioners and the firm’s global reputation.
- Identify and develop strategies for new business opportunities by staying thoroughly informed about clients’ present and emerging needs, as well as critical issues and trends within their respective industries.
- Mentor and guide junior colleagues on live work projects, fostering their professional development.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and exceptional interpersonal capabilities, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a proven track record in professional services business development.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years’ experience working for a professional services firm, with a particular focus on corporate law. Specific experience in restructuring and/or finance is preferred.
- Emotional Intelligence: Strong emotional intelligence, demonstrating independent thinking, sound judgment, and excellent execution capabilities.
- Collaboration & Relationships: Excellent collaboration skills, with a focus on building strong relationships both internally within the firm and externally with clients and partners.
- Attention to Detail: A high level of attention to detail is paramount.
- Communication: Excellent written, presentation, and oral communications skills.
- Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high expectations.
