Business Development Representative | PowerPlan, Inc.
The Tone:
This is a hybrid full-time role at PowerPlan, Inc., located in Atlanta, GA. PowerPlan builds enterprise software solutions. This is the company’s inaugural Business Development Representative position, a crucial role designed to address the challenge of creating predictable top-of-funnel pipeline for new market sales. You will be instrumental in initiating conversations with senior finance and IT leaders in asset-intensive enterprises.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Onboard & Certify: Complete structured onboarding and earn messaging certification within your first 60 days to ramp to full outbound activity targets.
• Prospect Systematically: Execute a high-volume, multi-channel outbound motion, utilizing cold calling, cold email, and LinkedIn-led social selling, targeting buying committees within PowerPlan’s ideal customer profile.
• Qualify & Schedule: Qualify every inbound and outbound lead against BANT criteria and PowerPlan’s ICP before booking a discovery call.
• Enable Sales: Hand off qualified meetings to Strategic AEs with clean, complete context, including account background, contact details, the pain or trigger behind the conversation, and relevant CRM history.
• Support & Collaborate: Report to Marketing Ops on lead source strength and messaging effectiveness, partner with Strategic AEs on coordinated outbound, and support marketing campaigns for conferences and webinars.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, seeking to learn enterprise software sales and build a foundation in a complex B2B market.
• Experience: 1-2 years in a sales, business development, or customer-facing role (strong candidates with 0-1 years will be considered). Working proficiency with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, sales intelligence tools (Ample Market or equivalent), and spreadsheets.
• Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication, able to hold credible business conversations with senior finance or IT leaders, build rapport quickly, and articulate value concisely; resilient and goal-oriented with a high tolerance for rejection and consistency in high-volume outreach; curious, coachable, and disciplined about CRM hygiene and activity logging; competitive drive with a team orientation.
• Bonus: Interest in enterprise software, finance, or the energy and utilities sector.
