Job Description

This is an internship opportunity for a Business Analyst Intern within Microsoft’s Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) organization, specifically joining the DC Demand Planning Team. The internship aims to provide university graduates with a chance to build community, explore passions, and contribute to real-world projects within a global team. Overview of the Role:
The Business Analyst Intern will play a key role in the DC Demand Planning Team, which is responsible for ensuring efficient data center demand planning. The primary objective of this role is to conduct in-depth data analysis to generate critical insights. These insights will support executive decision-making, facilitate strategic recommendations, and contribute to the evaluation of business and product decisions using sound analytical methods. The intern will also be expected to develop expertise in relevant data sources and tools, build strong working relationships, and help create self-service analytics to promote data-driven decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities:
• Analyzing diverse datasets to derive valuable insights that inform and enhance data center demand planning.
• Applying systematic approaches to ensure the quality and accuracy of analyses, grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape, to drive strategic decisions.
• Clearly articulating ideas and engaging effectively with stakeholders, adapting communication styles to ensure messages are understood and persuasive.
• Fostering a cooperative environment to establish well-defined objectives and mutual understanding of project or program goals.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Must have at least one semester/term of academic study remaining after the completion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in applying analytics across various business situations, with a proven ability to extract actionable insights from complex data.
• Possession of strong project management skills.
• An understanding of modeling techniques and the ability to create effective data visualizations.

Compensation and Benefits:
The base pay range for this internship is USD $4550.00 – $9190.00 per month. For specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is higher, at USD $6210.00 – $10080.00 per month.
