Bookkeeper / Office Administrator

  • Location: Modesto, California
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Employment Type: Full Time | On Site
  • Compensation: $24 to $30 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Opportunity

A long-standing nursery and garden center in Modesto is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Office Administrator to support daily financial and office operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining organized financial records while supporting a small, hardworking team.

The position works directly with ownership and plays an important role in keeping the company’s books accurate and operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
  • Support payroll processing for approximately 30 employees.
  • Perform data entry and maintain financial documentation.
  • Work with an inventory system that exports into QuickBooks.
  • Help track down outstanding invoices and maintain accurate records.
  • Answer phones and assist with general office administration.
  • Coordinate with the company’s CPA or tax preparer as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a small team environment.
  • Ability to manage confidential financial information.
