Bookkeeper / Office Administrator
- Location: Modesto, California
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- Employment Type: Full Time | On Site
- Compensation: $24 to $30 per hour (depending on experience)
About the Opportunity
A long-standing nursery and garden center in Modesto is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Office Administrator to support daily financial and office operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining organized financial records while supporting a small, hardworking team.
The position works directly with ownership and plays an important role in keeping the company’s books accurate and operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Support payroll processing for approximately 30 employees.
- Perform data entry and maintain financial documentation.
- Work with an inventory system that exports into QuickBooks.
- Help track down outstanding invoices and maintain accurate records.
- Answer phones and assist with general office administration.
- Coordinate with the company’s CPA or tax preparer as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a small team environment.
- Ability to manage confidential financial information.
