Bookkeeper | Statz & Harrop Painting & Drywall

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Recording: Accurately and diligently record all financial transactions, including income and expenses, to ensure a complete and reliable financial picture of the painting and drywall operations.
• Account Management: Prepare and meticulously review journal entries, and regularly reconcile various accounts such as bank statements, credit card statements, and vendor accounts to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Reporting Support: Actively assist with the preparation of essential financial statements, and collaborate closely with company leadership to provide clear, actionable financial reports that support budgeting and strategic decision-making.
• Data Organization: Efficiently manage all data entry into the accounting software, meticulously tracking both accounts payable to vendors and accounts receivable from clients to maintain accurate cash flow records.
• Compliance & Support: Ensure that all financial information remains current, well-organized, and compliant with internal policies and relevant financial procedures, thereby maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial data.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Certificate-level knowledge in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance, demonstrating a fundamental understanding of financial principles and solid bookkeeping skills.
• Experience: Practical experience in preparing or assisting with financial statements, conducting basic financial reporting, and creating journal entries. Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software and comfort in managing digital financial records is also required.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy for precise financial record-keeping. Strong organizational skills to manage and maintain financial data effectively. Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time efficiently, and consistently meet established deadlines. Clear written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with owners and other team members.
• Bonus: Relevant coursework or certification specifically in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance. Prior experience operating within small business, construction, trades, or contracting environments.
