Job Summary

This is an entry-level position for a Behavior Technician (BT). Under the close supervision of a Clinical Supervisor, BCBA, the BT will be responsible for implementing behavioral reduction and treatment plans for individuals with behavioral-based developmental disorders.

Essential Duties

As a Behavior Technician, you will be responsible for 100% of the following duties, working closely with your Clinical Supervisor:

  • Working under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor, BCBA, implement treatment plans designed to reduce problematic behavior or improve daily living skills.
  • Collect and analyze behavioral data using Central Reach software.
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality and uphold client dignity at all times.
  • Provide updates to parents or other caretakers regarding client progress or ongoing treatments, as instructed by the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Ensure that all treatments provided adhere strictly to established behavior reduction and behavior skills protocols.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Exhibit strong detail-oriented skills and proficient oral and written communication abilities.

  • Knowledge: Possess a theoretical or practical understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, which will be further developed through on-the-job training.
  • Skills: Develop proficiencies in implementing treatment plans, data collection, and communication through training, practice, and experience.
  • Abilities: Demonstrate the capacity to learn and improve in areas such as behavioral intervention, client interaction, and teamwork, with ongoing training and experience.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: Some understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
  • Licensure or Certification Ability: Must be able to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 45 days of hire.
