Behavior Technician | Cortica
The Tone:
This is a part-time, client-site based role at Cortica, requiring consistent travel within a 30-40 minute radius to deliver direct care. Cortica is dedicated to designing and delivering life-changing care for children with neurodevelopmental differences, moving beyond traditional approaches to focus on building each child’s unique strengths. As a Behavior Technician, you will make a profound impact by applying a strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming ABA therapy model, helping children recognize and build on their abilities, foster positive relationships, and develop essential skills that translate across home, school, and community settings.
The TL;DR
• Role: Part Time (flexible 5-, 3- or 2-day-per-week options, with opportunities to pick up additional Saturday hours)
• Type: Part-time
• Location: Field-based (client sites within a 30–40-minute radius)
• Pay: $23.62–$31.69 hourly (compensation based on experience and educational background)
• Team: Reports to ABA Assistant Supervisors and ABA Supervisors, receives expert coaching from Lead BTs; collaborates with BCBAs and a transdisciplinary team including speech-language therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, music therapists, counselors, pediatricians, neurologists, and nurse practitioners.
• Mission: Deliver direct, individualized, and group behavior-analytic services to children with neurodevelopmental differences, applying a progressive, strength-based model to empower each child to thrive.
• Tech Stack: EMR systems, Microsoft Office tools
What You’ll Actually Do
• Deliver Services: Provide one-on-one and group behavior-analytic services to children with autism and other neurodevelopmental differences, utilizing a strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach.
• Implement Strategies: Effectively execute positive behavior strategies developed in collaboration with your Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to foster skill development.
• Track Progress: Accurately document session data to monitor and support the achievement of treatment goals and demonstrate measurable progress.
• Collaborate Care: Work closely with families and supervisors to establish consistent, supportive environments and develop individualized care plans.
• Ensure Safety: Adhere to Cortica’s crisis protocols, including de-escalation techniques and mandated reporting procedures, to maintain a safe environment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: Prior experience working with children.
• Skills: Willingness to obtain your Board-Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) credential within 90 days of your start date, with Cortica providing all necessary training and certification coverage; ability to consistently travel between client sites within a 30–40-minute radius using reliable transportation; proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; previous experience working with children on the autism spectrum.
