Bartender / Bar Associate | Carowinds

What You’ll Actually Do
• Beverage Creation & Service: Craft a variety of beverages, pour beer and wine, and provide exceptional service to both corporate and leisure guests at the bar.
• Compliance & Management: Diligently monitor and manage alcohol sales and consumption in strict compliance with NC Liquor Laws, including verifying proper identification to ensure all purchasers meet the minimum age requirement of 21 years.
• Bar Operations & Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and full stocking of the bar, preparation, and all other assigned areas, including performing pre and post-shift clean-up tasks and some heavy lifting of items like beer kegs and cases.
• Order & Financial Processing: Take accurate orders for and serve bar bites, accurately balance shift reports and the cash drawer, and efficiently process credit card payments.
• Guest Information & Engagement: Answer general guest questions and provide insightful information about the property, local park, and surrounding area.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be at least 21 years old.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and efficiently operate a Point of Sale (POS) system. Proven capacity to work collaboratively in a team setting while also demonstrating the ability to work independently. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet fluctuating business needs.
• Skills:
1. Proficiency in crafting a variety of beverages, pouring beer and wine, and taking orders for bar bites.
2. Strong commitment to upholding company values of Integrity, Courtesy, and Inclusiveness, with a focus on safety and service.
3. Thorough understanding and strict adherence to NC Liquor Laws, including accurate identification verification for age compliance.
4. Accurate cash handling, balancing shift reports, and efficient processing of credit card payments.
