Bar Associate / Bartender | Carowinds

The Tone:
This is an hourly role at Carowinds, an amusement park located in Gastonia, NC. At Carowinds, the core mission is to make people happy by creating fun and lasting memories for guests. As a Bar Associate, you will be instrumental in crafting a welcoming and exciting atmosphere, directly contributing to guest happiness and providing a variety of engaging activities. Your exceptional service, warm conversation, and helpful suggestions will ensure guests look forward to relaxing and creating memorable experiences with you after a long day at the park.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, Gastonia, NC
• Pay: $10 hourly

What You’ll Actually Do
• Guest Service & Beverage Crafting: Craft a variety of beverages, pour beer and wine, take food orders, and provide attentive service for bar bites to both corporate and leisure guests.
• Alcohol Compliance & Safety: Diligently monitor and manage alcohol sales and consumption, strictly adhering to NC Liquor Laws, including verifying proper identification for guests 21 years or older.
• Bar Operations & Stock Management: Manage all draft beer operations, including tapping and carrying beer kegs and cases, and ensure the bar is impeccably clean, orderly, and well-stocked with beverages.
• Financial Accuracy: Accurately balance shift reports, manage the cash drawer, and process all credit card payments.
• Guest Engagement: Engage guests by answering general questions and providing comprehensive information about the Carowinds property, the park, and the local area.

• Background: Must be at least 21 years old.
• Experience: A strong sense of initiative and a steadfast commitment to upholding Carowinds’ stellar reputation and dedication to safety, exceptional service, courtesy, cleanliness, and integrity.
• Skills: Proficiency in quickly learning and efficiently operating Point of Sale (POS) systems; ability to work effectively both collaboratively within a team and independently as needed.
• Bonus: Availability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods, to align with fluctuating business needs.
